On 23 November 2016, the second annual FNG Label awards took place in Berlin, with Forum Nachhaltige Geldanlagen (FNG) and Gesellschaft für Qualitätssicherung Nachhaltiger Geldanlagen (GNG) awarding the FNG Label to a total of 38 mutual funds. Among the award-winning funds are the Triodos SRI Funds: Triodos Sustainable Equity Fund (3 stars), Triodos Sustainable Mixed Fund (2 stars) and Triodos Sustainable Pioneer Fund (3 stars).
The FNG Label gives the German-speaking countries a quality standard for sustainable mutual funds. The Label’s minimum requirements consist of transparency and process criteria, the exclusion of weapons and nuclear power and the inclusion of provision for the four areas of the UN Global Compact: human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Building on these, the multi-grade model gives funds the opportunity to score additional points in the areas of product standards, institutional credibility, selection and dialogue.
One year after the first FNG label, overall progress can already be seen in transparency and quality of reporting compared to last year’s various fund submissions.
Eric Holterhues, Head of Triodos SRI funds: “We are delighted that we maintained the ratings for our funds. For Triodos Sustainable Equity and Triodos Sustainable Pioneer Funds, we’ve again received the 3-Star rating which is the highest rating awarded by FNG. Only 5 other funds have received this rating. We’re proud to have the highest standard on sustainability possible in Germany.”
