Triodos Bank launched an ‘industry first’ £15m energy efficiency funding pot designed to help UK housing associations tackle fuel poverty among their social housing residents. Backed by TV broadcaster and director of sustainable housing developer HAB Housing, Kevin McCloud, the funding scheme is aimed at “raising living standards for some of the UK’s most vulnerable residents” as well as developing green spaces.
The Dutch green banking specialist said its Warmer Homes and Greener Communities loans initiative would enable UK housing associations to make energy efficiency improvements to their housing stock, helping to tackling the estimated 2.38 million households in England currently living in fuel poverty.
