The Impact Summit Europe is an investor- and invitation-only conference that aims to catalyse private institutional capital to support the financing of the SDGs and the mainstreaming of impact and sustainable development investing.

The Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations are a key element of the Impact Summit program. These goals are a group of targets set by the UN aimed at governments, NGOs and private industry to use to frame their agendas and political policies. There are 17 headline areas and a group of 169 specific targets under the headings. As a result of the Impact Summit 2016, 22 investors launched the Sustainable Development Goals Investing (SDGI) Agenda with the aim to strengthen intermediation and cooperation between the financial sector, the Dutch government and regulators, and help accelerate and trigger impact investments at scale.
